Talking Matters

Talking Matters

This is the sensitive and upbeat story of two elderly residents in a long-term care home and their spirited caregivers. Inspired by research into the ways that language can be used to enhance memory and cognition in seniors with dementia, the play follows the intergenerational journey of discovery as David and Inga struggle with language and their longing for respect and dignity.

Long-time head nurse, Bea Palmer, is charged with implementing yet another new policy aimed at improving residents’ well-being, a task she accepts half-heartedly in an understaffed and overworked workplace.  It takes a young, quirky volunteer, Lizzy, to turn things around with both expected and unexpected results.

Talking Matters is a 45 minute live presentation.

A feedback session is recommended at the end of each performance.
